Memcache on Ubuntu 10.04

What is Memcache?

Download memcache and memcached
Prequisites
#apt-get update
#apt-get install php5-dev
#apt-get install php-pear

Lets Begin!!!

Install the server and php extention:
#apt-get install memcached
#pecl install Memcache

Edit your php.ini:
#vi /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini

Add the following line add the end of the file and save the changes:
extension=memcache.so

The memcached configuration file can be found here: /etc/memcached.conf

Restart Apache:
service apache2 restart

Start memcached with the default configuration:
service memcached start
